Tech Score: There is an issue with Tech Score (both HS and College) that ISSA is aware of and working on. The hope is to have it fixed by this weekend. That said, it is advised for race organizers to have an “old school” paper plan in case things are not fixed in time.
High School Sailing Survey. Please take a look at this request and forward it to your team members if you deem it appropriate.
My name is Kayla Johnson, and I am a senior at Mercy High School in Middletown, CT. I am reaching out because your school has an active sailing team registered with the New England Schools Sailing Association. I am currently working on my AP Capstone Research project, which delves into persistent participation barriers in the sport of sailing. By gathering information from schools across New England, I aim to uncover patterns that will inform the creation of informational programs and accessible opportunities to foster participation and support within the sport.
My data collection is based on a multiple-choice survey. The survey is 100% anonymous; no identifying information will be recorded or connected to students. Additionally, a branching format is used to ensure that the survey can be completed quickly and easily. No student will be asked more than 20 multiple-choice and 2 (optional) open-ended questions.
The survey is intended to be distributed to as many students as possible, regardless of prior sailing experience. Please let me know if your school would be willing to distribute the survey on my behalf. As many responses as possible are greatly appreciated and will make a significant impact on my research. I will attach a PDF copy of all the questions to this email for you to review. I will also include a link that can be used to distribute the survey. If you have any further questions or concerns, please let me know. Thank you for your time.
Kind regards, Kayla Johnson
