It was a beautiful sunny day in San Francisco for day 1 of the PCC Gold Championship.  The breeze in Treasure Island’s Clipper Cove came from the west at 8-12 knots for most of the day.  Following a day of high quality competition, 8 races were sailed in each division.  Cathedral Catholic and Branson were tied for the overnight lead.

Competitors at the PCISA High School Double Handed championship were greeted by another beautiful sunny day on Treasure Island. The breeze rose steadily from 8 knots in the morning to 17 knots for the afternoon sets, and the race committee was able to complete 30 total races before the 1600 deadline.  Congratulations to Point Loma High School for winning the championship, and to the 5 PCISA teams that qualified to advance to the Mallory Cup in Seattle – Point Loma, Cathedral Catholic, Coronado, Branson, and Newport Harbor.  The final PCC regatta results are noted below.

Special thanks to the Race Committee led by PRO Forrest Gay and to the Bay Area Youth Sailing (BAYS) organization and it’s corps of volunteers for running a great regatta.
